Video Downloader Privacy Policy

Updated 5 October 2026. This policy applies to the Video Downloader Android app (package: app.htydev.videodownloader.statussaver).

What the app does

The app downloads a video from a direct file URL, or from a public Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or X link that you enter.

Information and access

The app has internet access only to check and download the link you provide. For a public Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or X link, the app requests the public page or public embed data for that post without any login, reads the public video address from it, and downloads that video. It does not access private accounts, private posts or stories. It stores download IDs locally on your device so it can show your library. It does not require an account, and uses only two Google SDKs, Google AdMob for ads and Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage statistics, both described below.

Network requests and third parties

When you provide a link, your device contacts that website (for example instagram.com, tiktok.com, facebook.com, x.com or the host of the video file). That website and your network provider may receive your IP address and request details under their own policies. The app developer does not operate a server that receives your video URL or media files. Android's system Download Manager handles the file transfer.

Advertising

The app shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from it, and ad interaction and diagnostic data to show, limit and measure ads, under Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). Where required (for example in the EEA, UK and some other regions) the app asks for your consent through Google's consent form before requesting ads, and you can change your choice later from the app's Privacy page. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings. The app contains no other analytics or tracking.

Analytics

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to measure how many people use the app and which screens are used. It collects app interactions (such as screens viewed and sessions), approximate region, device and app version information, and an app-instance identifier. This data is not linked to your name or account and is used only to understand and improve the app. Where consent is required (EEA, UK and some other regions), analytics and ads data collection follows the choice you make in the consent form, which you can change from the app's Privacy page. See policies.google.com/privacy and firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Storage and deletion

Downloaded files remain on your device in its media folders until you delete them. You can delete them with your device's file manager or gallery. Uninstalling the app removes its local preferences; media files saved to shared storage may remain until you delete them.

Children

The app is a general media utility and is not designed specifically for children.
